Surrendering
Maharajji Kripalu writes that the fourth of the seven steps to God realization is surrendering: when the devotee surrenders, he does so to a true rasik Saint.
What does it mean to surrender oneself fully? Why should we surrender to the Saint?
Maharajji Kripalu writes that the devotee who surrenders will overcome the darkness of ignorance and worldly attachment. In so doing, the effects of maya will no longer distract or cause pain to the devotee, even while he is still part of the world of the living. When applied to the eyes, the Divine dust of surrender opens up the soul to divine vision so that the illusions of this world will no longer have power over us. When this happens, it is easy to say, “I adore and surrender myself to the Divine lotus feet of my beloved Master. There, at that beloved refuge by the lotus feet of my Master I will remember the leelas of Radha Krishn.” This remembrance defeats the darkness of ignorance and worldly attachment. The Grace of this remembrance cancels the effects of maya so that the attractions of the world will not affect the devotee even while he is still part of the world of the living. The Divine dust of whose lotus feet, when applied to the eyes, permits Divine vision.
When one seeks out leela, they are more apt to surrender themselves. Our souls yearn eternally for such a love that extends the peace and happiness of your mind to eternity, to render your heart blissful forever. Why then, not surrender to the Saint to practice leela?

I surrender myself to the Divine lotus feet of my beloved Master so that I will remember the leelas of Krishn.
