Just as it is impossible to run with tied feet, or speak with a closed mouth, it is impossible to practice devotion to God with the mind attached elsewhere. In reality, it is only the attachment of the mind which is referred to as devotion in the spiritual realm. But this same attachment, if directed to the material world, is referred to as infatuation.
